A Local Humanitarian Perspective

Today in our local shelter, there are ... 8 women, 8 children and 1 dog.
 
In 2012, the  > Domestic Violence Services (DVS)  provided the following services: • Sheltered 273 domestic violence victims and their children: 140 women, 129 children, 4 men • Provided 5,460 bednights • Answered 9,468 calls on 24-hour crisis line • Provided legal & support advocacy to 980 clients • Assisted with 221 protection orders.
 
Current Needs: The shelter is currently in need of silverware, tupperware, counter top canisters, liqued laundry soap, pots and pans. The children's program is currently in need of craft supplies and non-perishable snacks. If you are able to provide any needed items, please contact 735-1295.
